The shortlisted scripts were performed by the actors from Bath Spa University,  we heard about our judges’ careers and tips for screenwriting AND the audience and judges agreed on a winner.

The judges were

Olivia Hetreed is best known for her screen adaptations of Wuthering Heights and The Girl With The Pearl Earring.

Lucy Catherine is a name to watch out for, she has written for Spotless, Being Human and The Musketeers.

Ashley Pharaoh has a HUGE fan base as the writer of Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.

Col Needham is “the most powerful Brit in Hollywood – by miles, by millions.” He is the CEO of IMDb

The short listed scripts were

The Painting by Steve Brehm

Switch Me Off by Elliott Jackson

Can You Hear Me?  by Sean Healy

Sheep Dog by Theo Watkins

To Die For by Janet Harrison

and the winner of the audience’s vote and the 2015 IMDb Script to Screen Award is…

Sean Healy for his deeply disturbing Can You Hear Me?

Sean wins £5,000 cash, £2,000 worth of kit from Visual Impact/180Degrees AND an enamel IMDb badge! He will make the film of Can You Hear Me? over the summer and it will premiere at Bath Film Festival 2015 (3 – 13 Dec), so watch this space!

Bath Spa University awarded Janet Harrison the runner’s up prize of £2,000 cash plus £3,000 of studio time to make her film of To Die For (which we particularly loved as it will be triple F-rated: written by a woman, staring complex women and will be directed by a woman!)

A fabulous night!
